Has anyone tried a set of the Nitto 555R drag radials? If so, how do they work compared to other DOT street tires? Are they a fairly stable street tire? ------------------ 1982 Ford F100 2wd Shortbox. 357 Cleveland with TRW forged flat-top slugs, rods reconditioned w/ARP bolts and fully balanced. Heads are closed chamber 4v's that have been ported, exhaust side was also polished, rocker pedastals machined for adjustable valvetrain, 2.19" Milodon Mega-flo intake valves, 1.71" Milodon Mega-flo exhaust valves, Crower Stainless 1.73:1 roller rockers, PSI dual springs w/dampner, and Comp titanium retainers. Custom MME Hyd Roller cam with 285/287 advertised, 242/244 @0.050, and 0.640" lift on both sides. Blue Thunder dual plane intake, HVH Street Sweeper carb spacer, and 830 Holley DP w/annular boosters. Custom Flanged Hooker Super Comps. Complete Jacobs Pro Street igntion. Dacco 3800 stall converter, fully roller bearing C6. 3.89 trac-lok rear end. Caltrac Traction Bars.

i had a set of them on my coupe at one time and comapred the the normal street tire the hooked pretty well. the car wasnt real fast out of the hole but iwas pulling 1.90 60's running 8.40s' in the 1/8 never got below a 2.02 on regular radials so good luck ------------------ Josh 67 coupe with 351c (currently broke:( ) 8.41 in the 1/8 1.90 60' at 82.03 mph 94 Explorer 30 model A currently rustbucket in process 67 convt with efi 5.0 and t5(now mostly complete and on the road legally)

The nitto 555r is very "streetable". At the strip I will drop the air pressure to about 20psi and heat them up pretty good (unlike other street tires). If you break them loose coming off the line, they don't "recover" very well (thats the prob with real "street" tires compared to "cheeters"). They still corner really well and I have no problems when it rains...They don't feel quite as soft as BFG's drag radial.
