Is anyone using AUTOLITE DBL Platinum.. Or the AUTOLITE RACING PLUG..

I'm going to change to plugs on 6T6,, and that is the best plug our only parts store in town has..

Due to my GT-40P Heads & Long Tube Header replacing the plugs is pretty involved,, so once they're installed they are gonna be there for a while..

Also,, I am running MSD-6L ignition with MSD Dist.. What gap would you recommend using on my 331 Stroker.. MSD Manual states (50-60)that's just a bit to vague..

Any comments are appreciated..

The racing plugs work real well, but have a relatively short lifespan since they are a sidegap plug. If it's a b**ch to change the plugs in your car, I wouldn't run them. FYI, the sidegap plugs only use a .025 gap, and it is more than enough.

Regardless of what MSD claims, with a normal plug (non side gap), I never found any benefit with more than .045 plug gap. I tried all the way up .060 and the car never ran faster.

Rob,,

Thanks for the info.. The plugs aren't too bad,, just have to take the headers off and beat myself over the head for putting GT-40P Heads on my small block.. Ignorance is my only excuse..

Through the process of finding a plug that would fit,, we found that ACCEL SHORTIE PLUGS for this head,, Are:
1. Barely shorter that stock plugs..
2. Still don't fit
3. and cost about $10 each..
Oh Yeah
4. I had to wait a week (for shipping) to find that out..

But I do have one of the only 66's that I know of that has GT-40P's and Heddman LongTubes..
