I'm trying to fit the most wheel/tire possible under my 68 coupe. Ordered a Weld Draglite 15x10 with 5.5 BS. The wheel is 1.5" from the spring, is this adequate?

Putting Mickey Thompson ET Drag Radial on 275/50-15 size. Sidewall width 11.3" Tread width 10"

Thanks,
Don

Don,

That will give you about 3/4" clearance from the tire to the spring. That should work fine.

My Fairlane has more main bearing clearance than sidewall-to-leafspring. If it's driven around corners and on the street you should try and keep 1/2" or more, but if 1/8" doesn't rub in most manoevers it's OK.
Jack the car up at one front corner and check the opposite rear side for rubbing inside and out.

I have 275/50/15 bfg DR's on my 68 with a 15x8 4.5" b.s. Fit great and dont stick out past the wheel lip. I have about an inch and a half between the spring and the tire.
