A buddy of mine has a 360 in a 72 ford truck. It has a 4-speed manual, with granny gear, and 3.50 gears in a 9" rear, and a solid axle front end. It is 4 wheel drive and he uses it for offroading, you know playing in mud, and drives it every day during the summer. Last year about this time I rebuilt the motor to stock specs because it was original and worn out. Well now he wants to start to upgrade. What would be a good intake and what would be a good cam for something like this. he will be putting headers on it probably next year after he has gotten the intake carb and cam in it this year. Will a vaccum secondary 750 holley work good on there? I have one that I'll sell to him cheap to help him out. Thanks in advance for the suggestions. I'd run a 625 road demon carb or an edelbrock 600 performer (reliable but not as good as the demon) a cam with no more than 212 @050 intake maybe a high energy 260 comp cam or a performer type grind, 1 5/8 headers, You want to concentrate on low speed torque in a heavy vehicle/truck as it will help you get going and increase mileage. As for an intake a perfomer wll be perfect, being a truck you may look into a holley projection, yes I have one for sale butit really works well on trucks and 4x4's because of the torque/hp gains at low and mid. Check out all the early bronco sites they all run projections.....my mustang picked up some major power/torque and MPG's when I put one on and if your 4x4ing you will never flood it or loose fuel like a carb.

Edelbrock performer intake, 750 Holley is best choice, and a 270S Comp camshaft. Some adjustable rockers and new push rods will be needed. I may even still have some old FoMoCo rockers you can have.------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator NHRA/IHRA/SRA member and licensed Superstock driver MCA member# 53321 NHRA and IHRA SS/LA & SS/MA National Record Holder '00,'01,'02,'03,& '04 First SS/MA in the TENS! Thanks guys, hey Alex, want to see if you have some old adjustable rockers? If you do, my buddy may just buy that cam from you. Thanks Alex, with a solid cam, does he need restrictors though, or can I just throw it in?------------------ 1970 coupe restored with the help of my dad. 306 with 600 holley, Weiand Stealth intake, headers, mme custom roller cam, harland sharp roller rockers, kb pistons, 10.3:1 compression ratio, pertonix ignitor 2 with matched coil, lakewood bellhousing, 4-speed toploader, and 2.79 open 8" rear.
