Ok, this may be a dumb question but I am going to ask it anyway. On I have a 4150 Holley list 4778, I just ordered the proform main body and was wondering if I can use the primary metering block from a spare 4150 I have on the secondary side of the new body to get the 4 corner idle? Also, what are everyones views on power valve plugs?

Thanks in advance

You can fit the metering block but you will not have 4 hole idle circuitry without drilling some more holes in the baseplate and blocking two passages off. It's not hard to do (I did my own 850 D/P) but you need the info. Might find it on the web or in the Holley book, not sure where I got my info, was years ago now and don't bother with it on my current racer (600 D/P).
Power valves? Good things to have, never had one leak, never plug them. Read the Holley book. Don't use them on the secondary side. HTH

Thanks Martin,
I will see if I can track down the mods I need to make on the secondary idle. If anyone knows what I need to do it would be appreciated.
How are things in the UK? I lived there for about 5 years, only made it to Wales once, took the wife to Bath for our 10th anniversary.

Glad to help, sorry I can't offer the info you need. Things could be better here (rubbish gov't, high fuel costs etc) but we battle on. Weather is not the best, it don't seem much like summer here! I hope you enjoyed Wales, most peole don't know it exists (some say it shouldn't!) which parts of Wales did you visit? Bath is a very pretty place, we pop over sometimes for a looksee and some shopping (the missus, not me)
Cheers, Martin

Martin,

We pretty much spent the weekend taking in the sites. We enjoyed that area better than any other part of England. We lived about 25 miles north of Cambridge. I have to say Stonehenge was a disappointment though, just a bunch of rocks in the middle of a field and a lot smaller than I had pictured it.

Glad you enjoyed our little country, hope it didn't rain while you were here! Ha Ha! I know what you mean about Stonehenge, I felt a bit like that when I went there back in the '70's with my Dad. You could walk among the stones in those days, I don't think you can now. That's the effect of TV and films, don't you think? Many people say the same about actors and popstars when they see them in the flesh, ' He/she is smaller than I expected' etc. ha ha!
Cheers, Martin.

ntman,welcome to mustangs and more.
Power valve plugs are not intended for the street because the carb will run too rich but for a drag car I like power vavle plugs on the primary and secondary.I started out with an old 750 dp that had the roller style linkage for opening the secondaries and it could not be used with my new Proform main body so I bought a new base plate from Bill Mitchel. As for the secondary metering block...the proform main body is metered for "4" corner idle.BTW I bought mine from Summitt Racing.

Popeye,

Thanks for the info, this is for a drag only car. I have the same issue with my 700 dp it is the older bell crank style. I had a spare 3310 laying around with the newer linkage setup and was able to use the primarys from it but the secondary throttle plate shaft was a different length. I removed the older style bracket from the secondary plates and fabricated a new lever and rod for it. I was told that I need to drill a hole in my baseplate and plug it somewhere but I can't find any reference to what exactly I need to do. Any ideas?
