What do you folks think about wide band O2 combined with a mini data logger at a reasonable cost? Check it out. http://www.innovatemotorsports.com/lm1.php ------------------ JS "never submit yourself to scientific tests no matter how bad you need the money, for all you know they could have erased your memory and YOU WERE REALLY SOMEBODY BEFORE" 69 Mustang Pro ET Drag

I think it would be interesting to see the data from an O2 sensor, but feel it would be hard to make fuel delivery changes based on the information. Different engine combo's require different A/F ratios to make max power, and with cam overlap allowing unburned oxygen to enter the exhaust, it could throw off the readings. Without engine dyno run numbers or dragstrip time slips to supplement the O2 numbers; I think there are too many variables to give the O2 data great meaning. I thought about buying that very unit but decided against it because I figured I wouldn't be able to make heads or tails w/ the data, and would just be back where I stared, depending on trial and error, only more confused, ha! Maybe someone whose experienced w/ these things can chime in w/ some real information.

I just got one for myself last month, and I think it works great. Yeah, I don't know where my peak HP number is in terms of AF ratio, but I do know under what driving conditions my car goes lean (almost 17:1 while on the throttle) and can fix that. I think it makes a great tuning tool. Not only can I tell AF ratio at full throttle, but at cruise and light power. No more reading spark plugs for me!I plan to buy the #2 aux. cable eventually and hook it up in my Fairlane when I go to the strip. The #2 cable will allow you to datalog RPM, and 4 other inputs (provided their output voltage is <5V). I want to hook up a MAP sensor, and a rig up some sort of TPS sensor on my Holley DP (anybody got any ideas?). Eventually I want to put these sensors onto my other Mustangs as well. That way, I will know what the AF ratio is, at what rpm, under how much load, with the throttle opened up how much. All in all, a really nice unit. I haven't tried the computer interface/datalog function yet. I got the extra pipe you put into the exhaust tip to read from there (on non-cat cars). Plenty of sensor wire to reach from the tailpipe to the interior. A little pricy (I paid $435.37 total, including the extra pipe), but not bad as far as wideband O2 meters go. And the datalog function just makes the package that much better. ------------------ Kyle Laramore '63 Fairlane: 351W, 10.2:1, top-secret hyd. roller cam, Victor Jr. heads & intake, 800 DP carb, Super Comp headers, duraspark & 6AL, C4, 4500 stall, 4.11 gears, 26" slicks '66 Mustang Coupe: 289, Offy intake, Crane Blazer hyd. camshaft, Holley 650 DP, Headman long tube headers, 3" cut-outs, Flowmaster 2-chambers, 3.80 gears '70 Mach 1: 351C-2V, Weiand intake, 750 holley, Flowtech long-tube headers, MSD ignition, C6 trans, CJ converter, 9" track-loc rear, 3.50 gears, Flowmaster 2.5" mandrel exhaust w/ 3-chamber mufflers My advice for building & buying: 1. I've talked to people who swear by these units. Another one to consider is one produced by Altronics. It can track oxygen, egt, rpm, manifold pressure, etc. and sells for about $450.Earle

I have the LM-1 and love it. My car uses the EEC-IV with a TwEECer, so I can datalog the air fuel and the computer settings also. It is cool to see the commanded air fuel from the computer and compare it to what actually happens in the exhaust. I dialed my setup in and gained 35 horsepower by getting my air fuel to run 13.2 across the board. Went from 250 to 285 RWHP, no hardware changes.Randy ------------------ Randy 1989 Saleen Coupe # 653 1996 Saleen Convertible #14B

if you want acessories for this particular brand.... email me, a buddy of mine is a dealer and he is offering the basic kit for $299.00..... the rpm interface is $89 bucks. You can save yourself 50-60 dollars. The EGT interface is out and will be available soon. And yes you can compare time slips with the data logger function. if you are recording RPM, Fuel Pressure ( important if you run a belt drive like me ) TPS, EGT, O2, etc... ------------------ JS "never submit yourself to scientific tests no matter how bad you need the money, for all you know they could have erased your memory and YOU WERE REALLY SOMEBODY BEFORE" 69 Mustang Pro ET Drag
