I will start up the 393 today. It's a stroked 351W with Iron heads and 10.2:1 compression. I used felpro 9333PT PermaTorque head gaskets I know it's a good idea to retorque after the motor has had a heat cycle, but its a major pain with a 65 Mustang, better part of the day to R&R the headers to get access to the lower head bolts.
What do you think, is it worth the trouble?

I've never retorqued PermaTorque gaskets when I've used them and I've never had a problem.------------------ '70 Mustang Mach 1 351C 4V/FMX/3.25 Open '70 Mustang Convertible 250 I6/3 speed/2.79 Open '72 Mustang Sprint Hardtop 351C 4V/FMX/4.30 Trac Loc '94 F-150 XL 5.8L/E4OD/3.55 Limited Slip

I've never retorqued head gaskets either. I just didn't want to be the first to admit it. SteveW

I've never had to retorque PT gaskets with Iron heads but I did have to do it with my aluminum AFR's. When I first put them on I had a antifreeze leak from the PS head. After I retorqued them it was gone.B-loose
