I got my 700dp rebuilt, starting with 66front and 76 rear jets,28-31 nozzles and a 4.5pv.I got a chrome Summit 4150 carb fuel line for it, but it has a hole for a fuel gauge which I dont have. It comes with a plug but what kind of sealant do I use to hold the plug tight in there and to seal it from leaking ?? ------------------ SCOOP oddly obsessed with big scoops on little Mustangs 65 coupe,351w,C4,Big Boss 429 hood scoop,8" 3.40 TracLoc. Its probably an NPT thread so you should either go with a teflon tape or the permatex teflon stuff that comes in a tube.

Should I use any sealant on the fuel line where it connects to the fuel bowls ?Can I use some red lock tight on the plug on the chrome fuel line where a fuel gauge goes ? Other wise the plug is loose in there ? ------------------ SCOOP oddly obsessed with big scoops on little Mustangs 65 coupe,351w,C4,Big Boss 429 hood scoop,8" 3.40 TracLoc. No, and if you use a brass plug for the hole where the fuel gauge goes, you won't need any sealer there. For obvious reasons, it's best not to use any sealant in your fuel line. {so you don't clog your needle and seat or internal passages} ------------------ '70 Mustang Mach 1 351C 4V/FMX/3.25 Open '70 Mustang Convertible 250 I6/3 speed/2.79 Open '72 Mustang Sprint Hardtop 351C 4V/FMX/4.30 Trac Loc '94 F-150 XL 5.8L/E4OD/3.55 Limited Slip

Steve it's a metal plug that came with the fuel line.If I tighten it down all the way it goes into the flow of the fuel. I was thinking if I use some red lock tight it would hold it in place ?Or maybe I should just go and buy a better line ?

The fuel would probably dissolve the Loctite, being in direct contact like that. In that application I probably would use a brass plug {the threads are tapered} or liquid teflon pipe sealant or teflon tape in that order. And I'd be very stingy with the teflon.------------------ '70 Mustang Mach 1 351C 4V/FMX/3.25 Open '70 Mustang Convertible 250 I6/3 speed/2.79 Open '72 Mustang Sprint Hardtop 351C 4V/FMX/4.30 Trac Loc '94 F-150 XL 5.8L/E4OD/3.55 Limited Slip

Thanks On the ends of the fuel line where it bolts to the carb fuel bolws does that need any sealant ? ------------------ SCOOP oddly obsessed with big scoops on little Mustangs 65 coupe,351w,C4,Big Boss 429 hood scoop,8" 3.40 TracLoc. My Pics The older I get The better I was

No. The steel fitting screws to the float bowl using the big diameter thin gasket, and the fuel line itself screws to the fitting directly and the end of the tubing is flared which seats against the steel fitting in the same way brake lines do.------------------ '70 Mustang Mach 1 351C 4V/FMX/3.25 Open '70 Mustang Convertible 250 I6/3 speed/2.79 Open '72 Mustang Sprint Hardtop 351C 4V/FMX/4.30 Trac Loc '94 F-150 XL 5.8L/E4OD/3.55 Limited Slip
