yesterday at a show & swap meet i came across 2 intakes for clevelands. since i will be building my xtra 4v "C" motor next year i was hoping to find out what you feel is the best strip/street intake. my present "C" has the lowly performer on it,i picked up a blue thunder for this motor since i`m very unhappy with the ebrock performer. thanks.------------------ 34 coupe powered by 351 c 4v keith it`s nice to be important but more IMPORTANT to be nice.

The best intake you will likely find at a swap meet is a holley strip dominator.

I have never had a Blue thunder myself, but It should work much better than the Performer.I like the Torker intake for a street/strip motor. They are strong in the mid range. They seem to run out of steam just before 7000rpm, so they work well on a motor that you are not going to rev super high. Strip Dominator is great for an engine that revs higher than than the Torker wants, but you may loose some of the lower end power. I tried both Torker and Strip Dominator on my motor last year and the Torker won by a couple tenths in the 1/4. I shifted at 6500rpm. This years motor(stroker) likes the Dominator best. ------------------ Ben Grabber Green '70 Mach I 351C 4V Robbin Egg Blue '79 Fairmont 408C 4V, best time to date is 10.50 @ 125mph

Maybe it's just our Combos, but I had better luck with a Strip Dominator than a torquer. The torquer worse low speed drivability than the strip Dominator in my case. The Troquer is definately cheaper at swap meets.[This message has been edited by Mpcoluv (edited 07-05-2004).]
