Cooling is not a problem with either on my car just not sure which frees up the most horse.

Any tests?

I seem to remember reading an article that did dyno tests using different fans.

Not all flex fans are created equal! Some ate a LOT more power than the others. They also tested clutch fans, which seemed to be the horsepower favorites. They are also quieter.

Good Luck!

It seems like the pitch of the blades and their size would affect power too.

I was emailed an article which showed the clutch fan producing almost 9 extra horsepower.

When I run the flex fan the car actually runs 170 at idle and creeps up to 185 at cruising speed.

I think I'll throw on the clutch fan again and see what the temp does.

Thanks for the advice.

interesting to see that the stock 4 blade was pretty even with one of the flex fans, and better than the rest of them

gaining 20hp swapping from a stock four blade to a black magic is pretty impressive

If you are looking for HP and helping your engine run smother with less vibration,, Scrap both and put an electric puller fan on the radiator..

I had an 18" Perma Cool from Alex with a 2 core radiator and never over heated even in slow traffic on a 100+ day..

My eppisode in Nashville is a whole different story..

My electric fan cools better than the flex fan that was on there. And draws no power when car is moving because car runs cooler than the t-stat is set to turn the fan on at.
