I made it pass the 500 mile break in point. Last night from a rolling in 2nd gear I stabbed it pulled real strong up to 5200rpm shifted into 3rd and it just keep pulling strong hit 5000rpm again real quick. Not having a wroking speed-O I'm not how fast I was going, but the road did seem to get smaller real fast.

When I get the balls I'll take it out for few 6000-6500 runs.

glad to hear it's workin good

you still got the 3.40 rear gears? and any idea how tall the tires are? should be able to calculate your speed

with 26 inch tires i figure it'd be about 114

Yup 3.40 gears and 25" tires.
Should be around 109 mph or so. That would have been a big ticket
I better get the speed-o fixed soon.

Ron,

"this isn't your father's oldsmobile"

Or in your case "this isn't your old tired 351w" Try a few pulls to 6,000 rpm. I think it'll be useless beyond 6,000 with the 270H, but hell I could be wrong. You don't have to reset the lash on the juice cam. Go have fun and take it to Fallon with the slicks on it asap.

Thanks Steve I will the next time they have an open track. Fallon doesn't have TNT or bracket racing once a week like Sac does.

I know it's time I just want it to last and be fast.

Speedo? Bah! You know if you just drive at 5000 in high gear all the time it'll be 109.

Actually probably closer to 100 with the torque convertor losses.
