The water injection helps with detonation. I remember it being the thing to have in the 80's.

i've heard of people spraying a little water in to clean out the carbon i think...didn't know you'd ever want to actually do it though

It's a good way of running high compression and not using hi octane gas.

In the eighties we ran that on a F-350 with twin turbos on a 460. It worked great but the water tank wasn't big enought for a long pull up the Sierra's on I-80 with a trailer fulll of 4 cars at 80+ mph.
