Hey guys. We made it to the track last night, but not until I had to put in a new rear main seal Friday night and into early Sat. morning. Finished up about 2am but got it finished. Here are our 7 runs we made First pass off the trailer. Left off foot brake and then eased into it and shifted at 6000 rpm. 60 foot 1.551 ET 7.074 MPH 97.83
Second Pass we left off the trans brake and two step at 3600 rpm and shifted again at 6000 rpm 1.503 60' 6.815 ET 99.55 mph Third pass we experimented with tire pressure and spun HARD 7.019 ET 1.651 60' 98.04 mph Fourth pass of time trials We took tire psi back to 9lbs and the car left good, but hit rev limiter because shifter is messed up. Will not lock in 2nd gear it just goes from 1st to 3rd. 6.945 ET 1.467 60' 97.82 MPH and my brother lifted a little early cuz it did not feel right First round of trophy class I cranked the launch RPM up to 4000 and dropped tire psi to 7lbs and the car shook the tires hard and got out of the groove so my brother shut it down and somehow still managed to win cuz the boner in the other lane was not watching where we were at and broke out. 1.517 60' 7.176 ET 81.37 MPH Second round of elims. we got a bye run cuz the other guy broke. My brother is not quite comfortable in the new ride, I put tire psi back to 9.5lbs and turned launch rpm back down to 3600. It got a little squirrely around mid track and Tom had to get out of the throttle for a sec. 1.480 60' 6.946 ET 97.19 MPH Third round we left everything the same and dialed a 6.90. Car left hard and Tom lifted way early (Toms .528 light to opponets .742 light), but it just would not slow down enough. 1.449 60' 6.812 ET 94.73 MPH These times were great to me considering I have the timing backe down at 32* instead of 36 to 38 where I normally run it. We still have to install our race oil and plugs, switch to 114 oct. race gas and set the carb correctly. The shifter was going from first to third every pass except for the 2nd time run. We are going to get the shifter changed (going to take it out of the Mustang) and do some more tweaking. Im thinking 6.60's are VERY possible. Thanks for letting me share our results, Steve.

Hey Steve!Great to see you got the new car out for shakedowns. Are the slicks 14 x 32s? I run 7.5 lbs in mine and that seems to work real well. I'm running a Glide so my tire hit is different. With a 3 speed, you ought to be able to get into the low 1.40s on 60 foot I'd think, pretty easy. It'll take a little tinkering with RPM and pressure. I'll be at Eddyville for the 4th week-end, provided I get my fuel pump back. That is usually a nice event with 2 days of brakets and a pro show Sat. night. Congrats on a successful first outing. ------------------ 63 Falcon 377 Cleveland stroker Flying Toilet alchohol injection. 6.19 @ 110 MPH 1/8 mile 2002 Ranger FX4 daily driver 2000 F350 PSD Crew cab dually - Like commuting in a B52!! 98 US Cargo Phantom II 28'

Thanks Tom. It felt great to finally get it out. It was a long weekend though. Our tires are 31x13 and we run 5.29 gears. I think we need to switch to 4.56 or 4.88 gears to not hit the tire so hard. The wife and I might come down on Sunday to watch. Steve.
