Coming to work there was a guy next to me in a new WRX, STI or something like that?
Big ol'wing and a scoop that made mine look small.
He would rev it and pass me and then slow etc. At the next light I hit the gas and my cars front comes up alittle, shifts hard into 2nd goes alittle sideways and spins in to 3rd gear. At the next light it's just him and I. He stops about where my rear tire are. And doesn't rev it up this time and he leave the light real slow. LOL

Don't count your chickens just yet Ron, the guy may have been playing with you but not trying hard enough. Those little sh!tmixers with their all wheel drive can really rocket off the line if the driver isn't afraid of dumping the clutch at high rpm. By the time a car like yours or mine catches up it's a block later. With slicks or ET Streets you could beat him through the first couple hundred feet.

They are about the only ricer that can launch hard.

Going to have to agree the STI runs with the 04 Cobras all day. Look at the specs of those things in Road and Track or even Hot Rod they move.

I wasn't saying I could have taken the STI. I know all about those little rockets. They are all over this town, plenty of WRX's and lots of STI's too. I do think I might have made him think twice about it.
That what suprised me the most about it. I knew he could beat me and he still backed off ?

BTW I'll take a 04 Cobra over any import.

Tom I've seen those things launch all 4 wheels gripping and that motor rev'd to the moon.

Great numbers and fast little cars.

BUT, The best part is give me another $25,000 to spend on my 65 to match the price of the STI. Then we'll see which one is more impressive.

I was not saying you could not have taken it but just they are quick for a Ricer and didnt know you knew the specs on one. I would take an 03 or 04 Cobra hands down myself. If you look at the numbers that is bone stock. If you merely throw a set of drag radials on the Cobra I am sure the Cobra will run in the 12s.

I had a young guy roll up on the inside of me yesterday with a new Honda Civic with the HUGE Fart Cannon Muffler, massive wing, neon lights and ALL the stickers. He started revving his engine and looking over at me like I am going to smoke you. I proceeded to look over and . Then I started revving my car. JBA headers, Bassani off road X pipe with Flowmaster and a bunch of mods. The look on his face was priceless when he LOST the sound war. He then bowed his head and took off like Grandma going to the grocery store. His friends in his car were laughing at him for biting off more than he could chew. We then get to the next stop and he was actually pretty cool, he rolled down his window and started asking me a bunch of questions about my car. He was like whats in that thing, he thought it was a 4 cyl because the car is the LX model without the ground effects and you cant see the 5.0 badges from the rear until you get on the side. I have to say there is some ghuys around here that badge there 4 clys as 5.0s. Just a funny story on the same lines.
