Here's a pic of the beautiful Top Stock Mustang the guys of Melville Family Racing of Ontario Canada have been campaigning. I first posted a pic of this beauty from the Milan National event last year.
The guys were trying to sort out the weight transfer at Grand Bend last weekend after some major suspension tweaking was done to the car over the winter. God Bless Larry Melville and his amazing 90 degree wheelstands he drove through on Friday! He had the competitors worried enough to make him run a solo on Saturday to prove they had worked the car down to a more modest wheelie. Todd, I saw the pic from the first run on Friday - your Dad thought someone snapped some pics during the "near blow-over" wheelie second round qualifying on Friday. Did anyone get any that you could email me and I could post? I so regret missing that pass! I was busy under a '65 Mustand cleaning massive amounts of transmission fluid from the underside! ------------------ Beth Hey - did ya hear? My Alex is CHAMP!!! Beth, The only picture that I have of that pass is the one in my head. We were sitting at about the 330' when that thing went up. It was quite a sight. It was really nice to finally meet you guys. Hopefully we can get together again sometime soon.Tony, You wouldn't believe how many guys don't think that we have an extra .01 or .02 in the front end of our cars. Handy little rascal ain't it? A guy at Union Grove race track did the same thing (wheels way up) with a Gremlin (not nearly as much HP required). He paniced and let out of it. When it came down he broke nearly everything in the front end. It takes quite a driver not to panic when something like that happens!B-loose
