I was the last one to run at the dyno contest today. My 950 Bigs Holley had turned 471 hp and 473 torque last dyno session but that was 60 degree weather with low humidity. Today it was 85 with high humidity and what did my new pro-systems carb pull........ 472.2 HP and 471.3 torque. Pretty impressive considering it also showed the carb a little rich. Also the curves were 9 hp and 9 ft lbs higher throughout the curve to the max. I think this is the carb for me to stay with. Now there was a chevy drag car there, trailered in, with open headers that pulled 591 hp. I decided to try my nitrous for the heck of it. It turned out to be 593.7 hp and 616.3 ft lbs of torque. I won highest horsepower by a street driven car, highest torque by a street driven car and highest horsepower overall. Nice trophies and a fun day. Thanks again to everyone here for all the help.

COOL! Bet that wiped the smile of the bow-tie boy! When are you going to get your car back to the track? They'll probably kick you off the track after you run the number....

If I run without Nitrous I should be at a low 11. With nitrous in the 10'2 somewhere. Definately illegal without a roll cage.In checking the numbers again the pro-systems carb produced 50 more foot lbs of torque at 3500 rpm so it should make for a better launch.

Did they convert it to 3-circuit metering? That's a huge diff! Was it the same dyno?

Same type dyno but the place I use to go to went out of business. So here are the differences.Run with 950 Bigs Holley 60 degree day low humidity dyno jet dyno 471.5 HP 476.6 torque Torque at 3500 rpm 370 HP at 3500 rpm 270 Run with Pro-systems 1000 Holley 85 degree day high humidity dyno jet dyno 472.2 HP 471.3 torque Torque at 3500 rpm 410 HP at 3500 rpm 275 Now to be fair to Bigs I need to go to a dyno and run one then the other. There was not time for that. Also it is a 950 rather than a 1000 carb. What impressed me about Pro-Systems is the higher torque numbers down low as well as equal total numbers with tougher conditions. Patrick was easy to work with and wet flows the carbs. His prices are also very reasonable.

His car is also a VERY clean sleeper. You can look at his 'Members Pics' at the bottom of the page... Maybe he will post a picture of the engine. No, A dyno run is a tool A 1/4 mile run is a rush!I didn't as much go for the contest as to see what the new carb would show before I took it to the track. I especially wanted to check air/fuel ratio to make sure I wasn't running lean. A dyno competition is not much more than bench racing. Until you see if you can get the power to the ground and if you can handle it, it doesn't mean much. Still, pretty damn happy I won!

One of our own, with a ride that looks like it belongs in a car show thumps down almost 500hp to the rear wheels with no bottle and you guys respond by saying things like "it ain't no dragstrip" and "no driver required"... With the bottle on, it puts down right at 600hp!He's also doing this through tri-y headers, 3" exhaust and 2.5" tailpipes! You guys are bashing him like he's some sort of flamer driving a stock, muffler deleted, big winged, stickered Kia or something.... At least his car still has a 4-speed... and he DOES know how to drive. It sees plenty of track time.... yet is still a 'gear bangin' street car that can deliver the goods... and have a fun time getting there! It's also powered by a surprisingly stock looking FE. my $0.02 ------------------ Mike Burch 66 mustang real street 302 4-speed 289 heads 10.63 @ 129.3 http://www.geocities.com/carbedstangs/cmml_mburch.html http://www.fortunecity.com/silverstone/healey/367 http://www.mustangworks.com/cgi-bin/moi-display.cgi?220
