Oh Ya just swap them out!The only thing you need to do is put power wire from you ignition swith to the Distributor. I just used the one that goes to the ignition box.

I wonder how small the "small cap one is? ------------------ JS Before you criticize someone, walk a mile in his shoes. That way, if he gets angry, he'll be a mile away...and barefoot. 69 Mustang Pro ET Drag

I would guess its the same size as a stock cap.The large one I have is the same as a Large Ford cap.I have a Ford motorsport 13"air cleaner on my carb and it was just touching the Plug wires with a stock Duraspark with a large cap,Now its not touching at all. The Crane is about 3/4" lower than the stock setup.

Not 'fine' for me. I'm going stick with a proven, no hassle dizzy, MSD.
Anyways, I don't care for any Crane products. They seem "second rate" in my opinion.

the crane XRi module I bought certainly lacked some in the quality department. The system is an "under the cap" ignition module rather like Pertronix, only they make you take out the whole breaker plate and install their own peices. Only theirs were not made right and the thing moved around. I had to have a friend machine some parts up for me. I did call their tech line, but the guy didnt seem to want to believe that they had sent me a defective part.Anyway the unit does work better than the pertronix system (which failed on me twice) That distributor does look good. Im very tempted to upgrade to something like that and put in a 6AL module. congrats on the purchase I wasnt trying to rain on your parade with my own story of grief. ------------------ '68 coupe, '66 289 C code engine, edel 600cfm carb, performer intake, dual exhaust http://www.geocities.com/ottouk_77/68mustang.htm

A friend has a distributor and HI-6 fresh from Crane for a 302. The features of the distributor are fantastic. However only time will tell if it is reliable. The HI-6 ignition boxes are no worse than a MSD 6A as far as I can tell. I would gladly replace my unilite with one.

Hey everyone has a bad experience with something. My findings have been great with Crane products. The Crane Distributor was named best new product at the 2004 SEMA show!Like someone else said "Time will tell" My son has had his Hi-6 in his Stang for 2 years and it has been perfect. I have only had mine for a short time but sofar its works great. I did have a bad MSD box a few years ago but I bought one at a tag sale that still works great! Its in my Truck and will be there for a long time.
