They did another scan on Larry Tuesday and found a tumor on his lung, so rather than doing the brain surgery on Wednesday they did a biopsy on the lung. They sent him home Thursday and will treat him with radiation and kimo as an outpatient, when I talked to him he was happy that they weren't going into his head.

I talked to his daughter yesterday and they had gone to an appointment and were able to ask a lot of questions and he got his first radiation treatment. The tumor in his lung is small cell cancer which has spread into his brain. She (Lynda) told me that it is an aggresive form of cancer and that it has a high kill rate and a high relapse rate. They seem to think that since Larry is in good physical condition and his mental attitude is right, that he is in pretty good shape to fight this off.

I did some reading on the net about small cell cancer after I found out that's what it was and I wasn't very encouraged by what I read. If anyone can fight it off, Larry can. Please keep praying for him, he's got a tough road ahead. I'm gonna try to get back down there again for a day or two next week.

Thanks, Butch

hopefully the chemo doesn't make him feel worse than he does now. It's a horrible horrible thing to go through for some people, others seem to have better luck.

Hopefully he gets better soon

Butch, a friend of mine has the same thing. He's 57 years old. He has three in his lungs and two on his brain. His was discovered about 8 months ago. They've been treating him with success. Keep the faith and I'll keep praying. RAY

I was mistaken about the treatment he had yesterday. I said he had his first radiation treatment when, in fact, it was his first chemo treatment. He'll have his first radiation treatment later this week.

Thanks, Butch

We wish him the best. I know he has a positive outlook, that means everything when you are battling a serious setback like this. I remember he always had witty sayings in his signatures, like "Never moon a werewolf." I'd say he has a great shot.

He's been feeling pretty good I think, I talked to him on Tuesday and he said he was thinking of running up to Sears Point to watch some drag racing Wed night, not sure if he got up there or not, I had to work.

He's done with his radiation treatments for now but I think he's still doing the chemo. I think he has an appointment soon to reevaluate the whole situation, there's still talk of surgery if need be but so far he hasn't had to do that.

He has good and bad days because they have been changing his medicine around some. I called him last week and he wasn't doing too well, but overall he's still got a very positive attitude about the whole deal and he's in good hands.

Thanks for asking, it means alot to me and I'll definately pass it along, this is a very tough situation for me. Larry told me that he thinks it's harder on us than it is on him, I don't know if that's true or not but I know it's been tough for me.

Thanks, Butch

Thanks for the update Butch,

Glad he's doing OK. Tell him there's a Summit race tomorrow (daytime Sat.) and that he's welcome to join us.

It is very hard to see a loved one suffering. I think Larry is a good guy to be thinking more of his family than himself during this ordeal. My best to all of you guys.
