I've been having an idle problem. I took the carb off and adjusted the secondary's so they are open alittle. I also noticed that my dist cap where the rotor rides on the little center piece was broken off. And fell into the rotor.

Anyways I changed the cap and rotor and will see if either change helps.

P.S. I went by the machine shop the guys liked the car. But they all had big eyes when the first saw the SCOOP.

They said the rocker noise was ok. And the idle would go away with either drilling two small holes in the pri blades or adjusting the secondarys so they open alittle.

I also pulled two plugs before I started the car today both #1 and #8 were wet with gas ?

And the car was hard to start three times after I ran it when it was hot. Could that all be part of the bad the cap ?

Ron, I can't offer much help due to lack of experience. I just wanted to say your car is a legend. You should have a shirt printed that reads, "Drive loudly and carry a BIG SCOOP" Charlie

It didn't help with the hot starting and the idle seesm alittle better. I didn't take it for a long drive. I'll try and adjust the idle screws again. I took my son for a short ride for the first time. This is what he looked like and then and to think he drives next year.

Changed the idle screws from 3/4 turn out to 1/2 turn and lowered both front and rear floats alittle. It seems to be doing better, idles at 750 rpm in drive. It's more steady now but again I need to get the time for a long drive. Also I changed my VS spring to the tall yellow one I was using the short yellow one. I think from openning the secondary plates alittle to help with idle it made them open alittle sooner or faster could that happen ?

Anyways I hot started it and it fired right up this time.

I'll keep at it, thanks agian for the all the help.
