While I'm waiting to get my headers back I wanted to straighten out my motor mounts. When I bought the car it had 1 new mount so I bought another new one from Dearborn express. What I found out was the the new one that was on the car was made in Korea and the one from Dearborn was from the USA. Not to big of a deal but the Korean one is taller. I didn't notice until after it was installed. I figured I would just order another from Dearborn. Unfortunately they do not carry the same brand any longer and thier new ones are imported. I called around to all of the major chain stores in the area and those were all imports too. I called ESPO, Auto Krafters, etc, all imports. I finally called NAPA and they were not sure where they came from. The store local to me had one in stock so I went to check it out. Low and behold, a USA motor mount!!! Exact same one that I got from Dearborn 2 years ago. Man it is just getting harder and harder to find USA stuff. But the thing that ticks me off is how all of these parts places try to tell you, "you'll never find one made in the US anymore". The stuff is out there but you have to find it. I ran into the exact same thing when trying to find brake rotors. I wound up getting those made in the US too.

What is everyone else running for motor mounts? My next choice was going to be some polyurethane mounts, but those were $80 and I'm not sure how harsh they would be.

Not motor mounts, but still a mfg dilemma... I replaced the rotors on a '66 fastback about 12 years ago and Trak Auto had one from China and one from Canada. I went to two other Trak's to find another Canadian one. The metal in a Chinese pocket knife is so cheap I refused to use a rotor from there. At least Canada, while not in the USA, is still in America.

I run lakewood "muscle mounts", supposedly more like a solid mount, although I have a torque strap as well.

I also have the Lakewood "Muscle Mounts" on the 66 Fastback. They looked exactly like the stock ones to me; but I hope they have heavier duty components since they were more expensive than the stock ones offered by typical Mustang vendors.

I went with the muscle mounts also. Had to a bit of grinding on one for it so sit flush on the block. They are a bit more beefy than stock. I paid $36 for a pair from a place in Washington.

Those Chinese rotors really suck. I had a friend put some on his Toyota. I told him how bad they were and that they have terible core shift (the center vents are usually not centered in the casting). When he looked at them both exibited the core shift. He used them anyway. Six months later they were so warped he replaced them. If you ask me stopping is far to important to worry about $50 (about how much more USA are than Chinese) when changing rotors. Canada is fine, Mexico is OK, even Japan is better than China. Took me a while but I found USA Rotors for my Ford.

Thanks for the recomendations on the mounts guys. I never even heard of Muscle Mounts, shows you what I know, I'll check them out.

Anyone run solid mounts on the street (not a daily driver of course)?
