My brother's 351W has started to "Sqeak"...it has the same frequency as the crank so it seems.. he has had the alt, steeringpump and waterpump disconnected and run the engine, no luck, so it must be in the engine. the gaspump is replaced, no luck either. i was thinking off a spun crank/rod bearing oilpressure is 35psi idle and 60psi when driving., it also seems to go away when ,while driving, the revs come up and to come back again at idle....( don't know at what rpm-speed,..no tach...sorry) anyone formeliar with this.. thanx in advance.. Ben

I had this once on my old 351W years ago. Turned out to be a dry rocker assy as no oil was getting to it through the pushrod. Try taking the valvecovers off and looking at the rockers. HTH Cheers, Martin.

Last week, I switched from 3/8" rocker studs and roller rockers to ARP 7/16" studs and JEGS roller rockers. Now, the engine has a developed a noticable squeak after idleing for a few seconds. Rev the engine and the squeak goes away. The rockers look oiled, but perhaps its not enough or maybe the rockers are defective???? If it persists after tomorrows check of valve lash and inspection, I'll probably go back to the 3/8" rockers that didn't squeak.------------------ Bernie Frank 66 Fastback restomod (12.8 @ 112mph) 85 GT (preserved) 2000 SVT CONTOUR

well,, after reading the first reply, we took the valve covers off and looked for oil on all rockers, both sides ok..when trying this, the noise was definatly from the valvetrain...you could hear it loud and clear with the covers off..... then i took the liberty off adjusting the valves again... the were all way to tight!!!!!! (so ill never trust that engine shop again!!) adjusted them and tried he engine,...it ran much smoother than before, no sqeakies so problem with this one solved thanx guys!!! now its off to the dyno with this thing!!!! i'll let you when what it's making
