If I have 5 in of Vac at Idle would a 3.5 power valve be the correct choice?

TIA,

That's about what I measured. I'll check it again when I get the headers back from getting coated and can run the motor again. The cam is 254* @.050 with a 108LSA. Does 5 in sound low?

Thanks,

I'll check again when I get the headers. I checked on the vacuum port in the base of my Mighty Demon.

TIA.

Finally got the headers back and fired up the car again. Checked the vacuum again and it is 5~5.5in of Vac. I double checked and I do have the correct vac port, so I'll be changing the PV for a 3.5.

A friend of mine finally got his '69 running a few weeks ago. I don't know all the specs but he is running a 351W with a fairly hot cam, port work and headers. I checked his vacuum at idle (in drive) and it was also around 5-1/2 to 6-1/2.

I put a 3.5 in the 750 Holley and it works great.

The 5.5 that was in it was opening when he put in gear and that caused the motor to stall from running rich.
