Ok the weak link in the mallory is the LED/Optical eye. I sent a note to the Mallory reps and he suggested either a Crank trigger, ( KV thought of that too ) and another distributor they make which is part number P/N 3256711, a small diameter base just like what I have but with FORD magnetic style pick ups inside. just like a duraspark! Sweet! anybody run one? Anybody know where to get one? Yes I checked with Jegs and Summit web pages. I hate calling them and being on hold for an hour. ------------------ JS Run what you brung and hope you brung enough! 69 Mustang Pro ET Drag

I did a part number search at the Summit site. It's a special order item w/ a ship date of 5/24. Price is $243.99.You might be better off dealing with someone that can get it through one of the larger parts distributors (ie Keystone) to try to get it quicker. Chris

Jerry - used to have a Unilight. Now use a homemade crank trigger, good "old" Duraspark distributor and a MSD Timing computer.Only problem was a pickup "blew up" once. ------------------ Fred 68 Mustang 500CID/Powerglide - "No Tubs" 86 Mustang GT Cobra

Jerry, why not just put a 10 cent duraspark in it and be done? You can rework the advance plate and the advance mech to lock it out with a little welding or a screw and get a good quality cap and be done.

I cant find a duraspark that will fit in front of the T- Ram. those guys at DUI have emailed me and said they may have one that will fit. A small diameter duraspark with a regular Ford magnetic trigger. JS

Jerry,My advice is just to put an MSD crank trigger on it. I love mine. Just keep your Unilite and with a crank trigger you can just lock the distributor out and gut it except for the rotor button. With your car you don't need the advance anyway. Then you won't anything to worry about from now on. Jerry,A regular duraspark dizzy is the same diameter as the old points dizzy. The duraspark used a cap adapater to go to the wide plug wire terminals.

The old points dizzy wont fit, that's just it, the mallory is less than 3 5/8ths diameter, the ford unit hits the tunnel ram. 1/4 inch is needed.
