I dont have my dist. in front of me or I wouldnt ask this question. What is the diameter of a Mallory dist. for a 351W? I only ask, because Im considering going with a solid roller and want to try Comps carbon poly dist. gear. They only make it for the Ford in a .530 diameter.

Thanks for your help,

Von

Ford Motor Sports lists distributor gears for all 351W and 302 EFI engines as having .531" inside dia. I'm hoping they eventually make a polymer gear in the .467" size so I could replace the bronze one in the 66 Fastback.

FYI

when you mount the new gear......make sure the base of the gear (oil pump side of gear) is 4.031"-4038" to the base of the dizzy that sits against the block.

Found this pic a few months back on this msn group.....link is too long to post the pic via url

Tbird,

Thanks for the link. Definitely required reading there. I had a problem with this dist. shearing the roll pin. Did it twice, then tore the teeth off of the cam. Now, Im wondering if maybe I found a reason.

Thanks again,

Von
