Need to order new axles tomorrow and wondering what measurement to take from my current set to order new.

My 9" housing doesn't seem to match up to the charts I've seen. It's 55.25" from inside axle housing flange to inside the other flange.

BTW, had to use the truck/tree/chain method of removal to get the old ones out. Those things were in to stay.

thanks,
don

Check out:

And then click on axle_ordering.pdf

Moser axles are great.

and don't measure to the insides of the flanges, thicknesses can vary a bunch. That's like measuring the outer diameter of a tire to figure out the rim size.

You need to also measure for any pinion offset as well, usually Ford cars are centered pinion but trucks and later models aren't. If you have a third member in the housing you can compare measurements to the pinion from the ends, without a third member you need to locate the center which is 1/2" to the right of the upper middle third member stud.
