1) Mcleod scatter shield ...I should say the block plate HITS the flywheel teeth where there is double material for the starter bolts....Fix-I can remove the double material and weld on a nut for the starter.
2) THE scatter shield HITS the flywheel under the starter area...Fix-I can remove some scatter shield material inside of it...appox..050 would work.
3) My powermaster mini starter gear sticks out too far-It would be ingauged full time-not good.

HAS anyone been through this ??? PLEASE ADVISE,THANKS!!!

There shouldn't be any interferance at all.
What kind of flywheel do you have?
I would contact McLeod before doing any alterations.

Also the flywheel clears the scatter shield 355 degrees,at least 1/8" all around the 355.

If you need the scattershield to be SFI approved for racing you cannot modify it. I'd definately call McLeod , since you are pretty local to them maybe you can show them the problem in person. Any grinding would mean it won't re-certify later.

Let me ask a dumb question...Is this for a 351W? Are you using a 157 tooth bell with a 164 tooth flywheel?

YES it is a 351 and a 164 tooth FW.That would be my guess about the bell HOWEVER you cannot install a bigger bell due to the block bolt holes already on the bell housings radius.Like MM said ...I'm calling them in a few hours. But why is the starter different now??? A flat backing plate is a flat backing plate. The FW has changed from 10.5 to 11.

IIRC the starter mounting holes are in closer on a 157 tooth bell.
I thought someone made a steel bell with a dual starter pattern for 157 or 164 tooth applications.....
