I'm working on another SBF project with AFR 185 heads and I noticed that the head ports have rounded corners very similar to the Cleveland port. The AFR CNC process gives the ports a semi-oval shape and all the SBF intakes have the standard rectangle ports with sharper corners. What method of port matching would be best for these AFR heads?

I used a variety of smaller and smaller grinding tips to get a very precise match on my Super Victor to my AFR205's....

This gasket matches closely to the Victor Jr.302 intake. If you can see from the image, the port corners are rounded off and the left side of the port is about 1/16" wider than the hole in the gasket. I can easily widen the intake port to match, but I'm hesitant about modifying the corners of the CNC head ports to match the intake.

Looking at that gasket in place, Id be curious to know what gasket it is. I know the Fel-Pro 1250 and 1262's are what we use. That might not be large enough either.

The 1250 is what AFR recommends for the 185 heads and they tell you not to port the manifold to match the gasket. The gasket in the picture was a used one (FP 90103) that I pulled off an unported VJ intake. As you can see, the corner radius and port width is different and will cause a mismatch.
