Hey, I've got a 351 out of a Supra (the boat not the car) and one of the heads is cracked on it, I'm looking to get a set of heads (preferablly from a car thats not too rare so I can get them from the local pick and pull) and replace the heads. What are my best years to look for in either a 302/351 heads? Is there going to be that big of a difference between the 302 and 351 heads? I'm not really sure what type heads are on the Supra right now, was just going to go take a look at the heads in the next couple of days and see but I might be headed to the junkyard before I get a chance to go see what heads are on the engine now and wanted to keep an eye out for something I could use. Also... where are the numbers located on a set of heads? I was thinking they were stamped into the head around the springs but haven't been able to find a number on the heads I took a glance at today. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! Luke EDIT: Also, I noticed this 302 I was looking at out of a 72 torino didn't have adjustable rockers but a 351 out of a ..some type of van don't recall what kind did, are they interchangeable? And what years had those? Sorry for all the questions![This message has been edited by Mooney (edited 04-03-2004).]

There is no car that is known for a 351W unfortunately you'd just have to look. Try just about Ford product. The best heads to buy are the 69-70 because of the small combustion chamber and large valves. Anything between 70 and 76 will have larger combustion chambers and the same valves. Then in 77 Ford got lazy and used the same small valves, large chamber heads for the 351 and 302 the only difference being larger head bolts on the 351.I was considering putting 302 heads on a 351 and unless you have alot of money you might as well forget it. By the time you have the heads done right youll have upwards of 600 in them. The reason being you have to have larger valves installed and such. If you are set on 302 heads though PWA offers a decent set with screw in studs, 58cc chambers, 1.94in/1.50ex valves. Food for thought.

This is just a boat we'll probably be selling in the near future, don't want to put 600 dollars into any part of it what so ever. So any set of 351 heads... All right, well I'll continue my search there then. Thanks! Oh J/C but any info though on the adjustable rockers?
