Read through the history on both the racing and classic forums and have a few questions on radiators. The stock one that came out my car is pretty corroded. Don't quite get push vrs. pull fans and which is better.Do pull fan mounts between engine/radiator? Do you need a shroud for an electric fan? Is an aluminum 2 core adequate for 420 stroker street/strip driven? How much space is available between aluminum radiator and 351w in 67-68 coupe, or is it an issue when determining how much fan will fit? Thanks, Don ------------------ 68 Mustang Coupe New engine on the dyno [This message has been edited by mainer (edited 04-01-2004).]

Yes, pullers mount between the motor and radiator. A puller is more effecient because (if shrouded) it'll draw air through the entire surface area of the core rather than just through a 'circle' of coverage. Surface area is the main factor of efficency, multiple row cores will increase volume (capacity). A mean 420 inch motor will need lots of radiator and lots of airflow! My little stroker has just about maxed out a double row custom aluminum Tony Smith piece, and that's with a shrouded Spal puller fan. If I were to build more power (read: more heat) I'd need more cooling system to keep it alive. Either that, or only drive the car when it's below 80* ambient temp. What's the fun of that? Thanks for the reply. Did you have the smith built to the same dimensions as the stock radiator? Would you have gone bigger if you had to do it again? Thanks, don
