Now that i'm getting ready to build my 393 for the Fairlane, I need money! (Who doesn't?) So I figure a good way to make some is to sell my 302 shortblock that is coming out of the car. I would like to know how much I should ask for it, and how much I should expect to get for it. Here it is:

*'73 302 block:
-bored .040, honed w/ tq plates
-decked, pistons .015 in hole
-align honed
-screw-in oil galley plugs
-stock caps, ARP main studs
-casting lines ground flat, oil drain holes cleaned up

*Stock crank & rods:
-.010/.010 crank, 28oz
-polished, shot-peened rods
-ARP Wave-Lok rod bolts, resized rods, press fit pins

*.040 TRW F/T forged pistons, flycut valve reliefs
-Speed-Pro moly rings

*Balanced rotating assembly
-SFI fluid-filled balancer (CAT), SFI C4 flexplate (164T)

The engine needs to be taken apart and cleaned- cam got wiped out, so i'm sure there are some metal particles to be cleaned out. Machining is fresh, probably a total of 20-30 hours of run time.

What do you think? What would you pay?

Thanks!

Kyle,

If you clean it up and sell it with a new cam and lifters it'll be worth more than selling it as-is. I'm guessing as-is about $500. But that's just a guess,
