Can c3 Yates heads be used on a 289/302/boss 302 style engine? Will the water passeges be compatable? Thanks in advance!

Sure, they can be used with the proper intake on a 289/302. Unless you are going TransAm racing however, there are cheaper ways to have a high HP 302.

Yes. The C3 Yates (and the earlier high port family A3/B351/C302) have plugs in the head that allow running the heads on either Windsor or Cleveland blocks. You'll need the M-9424-B302 intake manifold which has a C#L flange and a Windsor thermostat housing. Beware there was a similar intake with the same part number that was for C302B heads and a lot of people don't know the difference between C302B and C3 heads.Dan Jones

To further confuse things, there are some "highport" heads labled as "C3" heads. In other words, there are a few sets of C302 style heads labeled with the Yates part number.
