A real good friend of mine needs some information. Heres his email:Ken, this is the information I'm looking for. I want to install late model (1994-5.0) heads on a 1969/1970 302ci block. My question is, what type of rocker arms can I use ? Can I use the original and make the adjustment or must I use the late model type? Is so what type of adjustment is required and is there any different attaching hardware? Thanks in advance for any information you guys can provide ------------------ What makes men chase women they have no intention of marrying? You must use the pedastal late model rockers. We have 1.72 rollers on sale. (shameless plug)If he wants, he can also use the Crane adjustable rocerk stud conversion kit and retain the early adjustable rockers. Either way he will probably need custom length push rods. ------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator NHRA/IHRA/SRA member and licensed Superstock driver MCA member# 53321 NHRA and IHRA SS/LA & SS/MA National Record Holder '00,'01,'02,'03,& '04 First SS/MA in the TENS! There is one other option. You can use Comp Cams studs #4504-16 to screw into the 5/16ths holes in the late model heads. Then you can use 1431-16 rail type magnum roller tip rockers or the stock rockers if they are rail type. The roller tip is the set up I originally had on my E7 heads but I went to guide plates and full rollers (that I got from MM). When I had mine set up with the Magnum roller tips I had the stock non hardened push rods and they worked perfectly. http://www.compcams.com/Technical/Catalogs/106-03/HTML/310.asp Or yet another option is Crane 44746-16 roller rockers for pedistal heads. Non adjustable bit they should work fine. HTH, B-loose

The Crane stud conversion kit is similar to the Comp unit only it includes guide plates which I like.------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator NHRA/IHRA/SRA member and licensed Superstock driver MCA member# 53321 NHRA and IHRA SS/LA & SS/MA National Record Holder '00,'01,'02,'03,& '04 First SS/MA in the TENS!
