Well, I thought when I build a modded 289, perhaps I should use one of them new 302 aluminum blocks, I think they're called Sportsman blocks? Is there any sites that I can get prices from? Also, could I put a 289 crank in there with no problems and things or will this new block be different from old 289/302 blocks? Thanks guys.

The FoMoCo "sportsman block is iron and it's a 351W. I just looked at DSS and though the block doesn't cost more than what I want to spend all together, 4k is more than I want to spend on just a block.
