I ran one on my Cleveland for a while.
Worked great. Great Throttle response. It pretty much works like they claim
Downside? Huge, throttle linkage fabrication necessary, and no cold start circuit. Also all intakes are designed for Holleys also.

Do ya mean that the Predator has a different bolt pattern or the same bolt pattern as a Holley carb?

No, but the intake's plenums are designed for the air/fuel to come out of a 4-venturi carb, while the predator's discharge pattern is in two linear lines.
Generally a open spacer is all that is required.

Been around since the early 70's.
Originally known as Kendig.
Didn't work well then either.

Terrible throttle response (off idle) and less horsepower than a good Holley.
Looks cool though.
Be fine for a Friday night drive in "hood up" special.

I have good respect for the Predators in certain applications. You have to remember they have a variable venturi design that somewhat hinders them in certain situations. They do offer a street version which allows a low idle adjustment, which they never used to. For high RPM usage, they're awesome. You will see them on pullers and boats quite often, constant high rpm usage. They work awesome on tunnel ram setups too (obviously big cubic inches). Dollar for dollar, you can't beat them. Now would I use them myself? I have, but wouldn't again unless I put a tunnel ram on my bigblock and I dont own a boat or a puller. Reason is simple, you can now get the Holley design to work magic, it just takes money.

They work well with a constant load which is near impossible to achieve with anything short of a puller or maybe even a boat.
The theory was great, but as most FoMoCo techs will attest to, in practice is something else.
On the dyno they would show some significant power at 300 rps, but fall off dramaticly at 600rps pulls.
Might be worth something on a one speed drag car. LOL

While I don't doubt Alex's experience, I had pretty good results with mine on my 372C Mustang. The throttle response was beautiful in my case. The real problem was that if you got it leaned out to where it ran great hot, it was a bi*ch to start in cold weather. Also with a strip Dominator, and a 1" spacerand a drop base 3" Moroso air cleaner, I had maybe .100 clearence to the bottom of my Boss 429 scoop. I would say that the Predator will not clear ANY mustang stock hood.
Really the Predator is an interesting novelty with no advantage over a properly tuned holley.
I have a Holley 750 annular DP that I plan on using with the new buildup.
BTW the "Idle Circuit" on some predators is just a air bleed that leans out the idle.
It is only needed if you plan on idling under 800 rpm.
