The only 2 intakes (that I am aware of) that will fit under my hood for my 351W based 393 are: Torker II or Stealth.

Motor should make between 425 and 450 @ at 6000 at the flywheel. Mostly street driven.

Please comment on which is better.

Can't speak on the Stealth as I've never had one. I did have a Torker II on my 383W for years. I had several hours of port work in it and it worked pretty well all the way up my 6800 shift points. Used a 1" open spacer with it.

I got a wild idea and decided to upgrade to a Vic Jr intake. Since the Vic Jr had larger runners I figured they would be ok. I just port matched the intake to the heads. Also had to buy a new MSD distributor. They make a special taller MSD dist for use with this intake. The regular MSD will not fit. Spent close to $500 for the intake and new dist. Sold the old ones for $250. All in all it was a waste of money. The car was no faster with the Vic Jr. It would rev higher, but was not making anything but noise. That may be due to the heads just playing out by 6800. The Vic Jr would rev to 7200 easily, but there was no ET reduction.

Later,
David Cole

Interesting, sounds like the torkerII is not that bad. When you say several hours of port work, what was actually done?

I'm using victor jr intake on my 351w.It's perfect and i'm gonna use it on my 408w as soon.
My decision use single plane intakes...

The torker II's an outdated intake. A ported 20 year old Street Dominator intake will outperform it hands down

been there, done that
