I am building a 351C and im going to throw on some 4V heads. I have a comps 305H with .585 lift. the block will be decked and .01 off the heads to bump up the compression a bit from the L2379-F30 speed pro slugs. Now...I want to really stabilize the heads, im thinking machining for screw in studs, roller rockers and a girdle. But i dont know what ratio rockers and what length pushrods to use. I am also going to buy some ferrea 6000's, is it safe to throw in 2.25" intake and 1.76" exhaust? Or should i stick to stock sizes? thanks

Aldo

I would leave the valves stock size, and use stock ratio rockers; 1.73. I don't know what length pushrods it will need since the block and heads will be milled.

This just occured to me. My machine shop told me to forget about the 7/16 stud, are they really too weak to spin max 7000rpm?

PonyRider, I would price a shaft mounted rocker system as well. If you plan on using the Gold Crane rockers and machine for screw-in studs it's not that much different in price to switch to a shaft mounted rocker system.... do the math on both setups.

I run Crower stainless rockers, but they aren't cheap. I also use 7/16 ARP screw in studs, and have never broken one, not even turning 7500 rpm and using stiff roller valve springs. Actually, everyone I know that runs a cleveland uses 7/16 studs and no one has ever had problems with them.

If I were you, I would be more worried about the competency of your chosen machine shop. They don't sound real intelligent to me.

Besides, if you are running that hydro cam, about 6500 is all it will probably make power to anyways.
