Thanks, I have a call in to pro systems to get their take on it. I am running a bigs 950 holley dbl pumper now and have been happy with it but was looking at pro systems since they have been recommended here.

I checked with Pro Systems and they said I do not need a shear plate. They did recommend I send in my bigs and they will re-work it. Cost is 390.00. They said they re-worked a bigs dominator and the owner gained 1/2 second and 5 mph but the carb was junk. They said to expect 10 to 30 more horse. Now, do you think they are accurate and is it worth it?

I don't think 30 hp is worth a 1/2 second.

They didn't say 30 horse was worth a 1/2 second. They said the bigs dominator customer gained a 1/2 second and 5 mph. They just thought they could get 10 to 30 extra horse out of my carb. I don't know them well enough to know if this is possible with them.

Great people to work with! They did 2 1150 HP's for my 557.My friend at the engine shop told me he has seen "custom" carbs and they are a waste of $$$$. He changed his tune when we picked up 45HP.This was without making any changes Patrick suggested. We only did 1 pull.
