I found some lost ambition yesterday and got around to taking RPM intake off the 347. With the RPM intake the carb mixture was about perfect, plug color good. Before I put it back together with the Victor Jr intake, what should I expect from the Carb. Should I change jets, up or down? With the carb sitting on the bench its a helluva lot easier to make changes now. Any opinions???? ------------------ Mike Golliver MCA Gold Card Judge-Modifieds 65 Kcode coupe 347 stroker modified 5-speed MCA Retired 66 convertible-3 dueces and a 5-speed with a 289 89 T-Bird Super coupe 01 Mustang GT Convt

With power valves, about 66 F and 70 R would be a good start. Add 5 sizes without power valves.------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator NHRA/IHRA/SRA member and licensed Superstock driver MCA member# 53321 NHRA and IHRA SS/LA & SS/MA National Record Holder '00,'01,'02,'03,& '04 First SS/MA in the TENS! thinking about switching to the vic jr. intake my dang self. i think im running 75/76 jets (no pv) right now with my rpm/holley 650 and it might be a tad lean. best run is usually right off the trailer when driver is cold and stiff. nights get cooler but also more humid, car slows just a tad even though im shifting my a$$ off. figured if i went single plane id wanna jet even fatter since the car would think it had a bigger carb and would also get a weaker signal to meter the fuel. all this theory crap is in my head. i bet your really gonna see more improvement since you got that stroker.------------------ 306, 4speed, 4.11's....best 1/8 mile 7.58 at 92mph with 1.72 60ft. 66's and 70's? Not trying to be a smartass, but why so much leaner with a single plane? Mine is happiest jetted 74/82, but that's a dual plane Air Gap... big difference ------------------ 1965 GT coupe, 333ci aluminum headed/solid cammed stroker, four speed, 3.70:1 9" All Blue Oval, no blue bottle http://mustangsandmore.50megs.com/V8Thumper.html

I Love Quickfuel Carbs... I wish this was mine. It's the backup engine for Marvin's Roadster at Quickfuel. I tried to convince him it should be run some this season, in my Bird. ------------------ 1993 Tbird 393 stroker, 3500 RPM converter Lentech Street Terminator Plus http://www.qsl.net/wd4ngb/birdwork.htm

Now I'm confused. I have 72 primary and 82 secondary now, so with a single plane intake, I should jet down. I don't have enough hood clearance to put a four hole spacer under the carb, so it is sitting directly on intake pad. Will I have mess around with the air bleeds? I'll definitely have to change float levels. Hopefully, I'll get around to running the motor this weekend. Mike
