Do most Transmission shops cut down Torque Converter Hubs (Shorten them)?

How much do they usually charge?

No they don't. They buy their converters.
Only specialty performance trans/converter builders or a machine shop should do this for you.

Alex, with the input shaft i have if i install it into the transmission one way it will stick out farther than it will if i turn it around and install it the other way. Which side is correct? I put a bit of "white-out" on the input shaft splines and on the hub where it contacts the middle of the sun gears and it appears that the stator, input shaft, and the hub are engaging (white-out was slightly wiped off and had made contact on opposing parts) but the torque converter still does not "click" three times on installation, it only "clicks" twice.

Sorry about all the questions.
What do you think?
