I've never had a new motor before. Besides the cam break in. Is there anything else that I need to do or not do to it ?Like use a certain oil weight, any additives, and change it more ? Should I use a coolant filter, can I use an additve like DEI, or watter wetter ? Also should I get a larger oil pan, if so which one ? ------------------ SCOOP oddly obsessed with big scoops on little Mustangs 65 coupe,351w,C4,Big Boss 429 hood scoop,8" 3.40 TracLoc. My Pics

Use a decent 10w30 or straight 30 for break in. Dump it with the filter after 1-2 hours of running. NO additives! You don't need a coolant filter. Start it with water in case you have any leaks. Replace with anti freeze. Stock pan is fine.

If you have a flat tappet cam, you definately need a bottle of GM EOS in the oil.

How about driving it? I have heard differing opinions on revs/abuse. Some have told me to break in the way I intend to drive. Others suggest to be gentle (brings back memories of angry salesman after redlining new cars on test-drives)------------------ '68 coupe 289 C code 66 heads, edel 600cfm carb, performer intake, dual exhaust http://www.geocities.com/ottouk_77/68mustang.htm
