When installing a Torque Converter does it have to make the "3" clicks before you know its fully engaged because i got 2 clicks and it seemed like the hub notches were not engaging with the slots on the sun gear but when i pulled out the torque converter the notches on the hub were lined up with and in the same position as the slots on the sun gear. What do you think? Please help me out thanks.

Yes, 3 distinct clicks, and physical drops while constantly spinning the converter.------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator NHRA/IHRA/SRA member and licensed Superstock driver MCA member# 53321 NHRA and IHRA SS/LA & SS/MA National Record Holder '00,'01,'02,'03,& '04 First SS/MA in the TENS! Is it possible that the hub does not engage but the sun gear slots line up and are in the same position as the notches on the hub when the torque converter is removed? Please let me know thanks.

Yes it is possible.Let's start from scratch. What trans? If it's a C-4 pull out the input shaft and count the splines. Then see if it will fit in the converter by itself. ------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator NHRA/IHRA/SRA member and licensed Superstock driver MCA member# 53321 NHRA and IHRA SS/LA & SS/MA National Record Holder '00,'01,'02,'03,& '04 First SS/MA in the TENS! Its a c4 24 spline, and the input shaft fits in the torque converter(custom made) correctly, i hear the 2 "clicks" but i cant get the last "click" (the hub going into the sun gear) and i can fit my fingers in between the torque converter and the front pump. With the old torque converter i can get it to seat with 3 clicks and sometimes with only 2 clicks (if i push hard enough it seems to engage in only 2 clicks also and i cant fit my fingers in between the torque converter and front pump). Its just weired that the notches on the hub always line up with and are in the same position as the slots in the middle of the sun gear when ever i pull the new torque converter even though it feels like its not seating all the way. What do you think? Please help

If the converter is correct, then it should go. Put some vasiline on the pump hub and input splines. Then slide it on again and just keep on spinning.------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator NHRA/IHRA/SRA member and licensed Superstock driver MCA member# 53321 NHRA and IHRA SS/LA & SS/MA National Record Holder '00,'01,'02,'03,& '04 First SS/MA in the TENS! if your converter is in all the way up in the trans. you sure have a little play about 3/16 to good 1/8 inch from conveter and the flywheel if it is tight it not lock in all the way good luck jim1320------------------ 1970 Mach 1 393 stroker cleveland best 10.88 @123.50 3550 lb car with exhaust have fun!!! http://www.hardcore50.com/race_coverage/MIR-FordFeverClassic/2003/PICT0034.jpg
