V-8,

The components you are looking at are excellent reasonably priced parts.

The crank, being ground for a minimum of 6.2 rods, will have a lot of counterweight, making balancing easy. Figure 1800-1850 grams bobweight for the crank; 630-670 grams for the rods; pistons should be under 500 grams.

This combo should easily balance to 28oz. For what you are doing, I would not run any more than 28oz, and go zero (internal) if possible. Do not 50oz if you will run this thing long and hard. When Kuntz (builder of some the of fastest and most durable stroker fords) balanced my crank he was most critical of this. 50oz would have been cheaper (for my combo) but not nearly as durable. So I spent the extra money on Mallory metal for piece of mind. Jim Kuntz and Keith Craft have been doing this for many years and have the experience to talk with confidence.

Have you found a sportsman block yet? I'm starting to look in that direction, too.

Good luck from Indiana...

I will run with a later stock block with Probe 1/2 main girdle and ARP studs.
Now im using TFS tw heads and 750hp series Holley carb, they can feed a 408w to the 6500rpm?
