Hey guys, I bought a set of the early cast iron GT-40 heads recently, and I'm having trouble finding specs on the chamber size.I need the #'s so I can buy pistons to properly set my compression ratio for the 306ci motor I'm building for my '66 coupe.Does anybody have these specs,or know them off the top of your head? Thanks guys, Scott

Early casting were availabe in 58 or 62 cc configurations. Late ones are all 62cc.------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator NHRA/IHRA/SRA member and licensed Superstock driver MCA member# 53321 NHRA and IHRA SS/LA & SS/MA National Record Holder '00,'01,'02,'03,& '04 First SS/MA in the TENS! Thanks Alex! Hope these are the 62cc versions,I can use all the chamber size I can get to help get my compression down around the 8.2/8.4 level I'm looking for to run with the turbo. You might ought to check the CC or have a machine shop check them, I ran a couple of sets of the GT-40s and I checked the CC and they were 65.5. Some Gt-40s were 62ccs but some were also 65.5------------------ Stephen Johnson #2162 Horace Johnson #2167 NHRA-IHRA SS/D 427 Ford Fairlane (Ex-Van Cleve) 9.50@ 139mph 1985 Mustang FFW True Street 11.86 @115mph (N/A)

The set of GT-40 irons we just got rid of cc'd at 67.5, so you might want to check them to make sure. They were advertised as 65.5, but ours were not. Steve.

"A Lot"....HuH?.....(lol)....are ya runnin' for office??....sounds like a politician's answer.....I was just tryin to mentally compare your combo to mine..(e.t. wise)....but then again ....a SS motor (with EVERYTHING MUCH massaged)is a far cry from a "bracket" stroker....and as for weight.....it would prolly take TWO of mine to equal yours...(not a fair comparison...)Shame of it is....You'd prolly kick my arse
