I need shocks for a street/strip car that runs mid to low 12s with stock leafs and Cal Tracs and 620 pound front shocks. I'm guessing RS9000s for the rear based on comments from Alex (thanks by the way). What about the front. I drive it mostly down the quarter, but it sees some street cruising with kids in the back seat.

Thanks,

Scott

Scott,

Rancho 9000s in the rear and cheapo Summit adjustables set on 90-10 in the front will do the trick. You should loosen up the front end and get some weight off it too.

Front springs are way too stiff to transfer any weight. I also had some 620# springs on the front of my '70, and it wouldn't pitch rotate for anything. And the more power the car made, the less it wanted to hook. I finally swapped them out for some factory replacement 6 cylinder springs and it (the chassis) works much better now.
