What type of data are you looking to collect? I build data acquisition systems for the Army Corps and I might be able to help with some tips.

I use a CORSA system, 8 EGTs, Input shaft pickup, drive shaft pickup, engine R.P.M.and G-meter. You can use it in auto start or manual activation mode and is Windows based. System was alot less than what you are talking about & does the job. MarkJ------------------ http://home.usaa.net/~johnson403
