When milling heads and running thinner head gaskets can you just shim the positive stop nut by the amount you have milled and or lost by running a thinner gasket, or do you need to set it up different somehow?just wondering how much tinkering would be involved in doing this to gain some compression. I know how to torque bolts, but not how to set up a hyd cam ------------------ 1974 Gran Torino (351W/c6) My Page Mustang&Fords suggested a Torino restomod, but i have yet to see one...so i'm building one

Not sure if I understand your question... are you talking about adjusting "shimming" the rockers?If that's your question, you will need to readjust the rockers after you change the head gasket. Unless they use a bolt, then the adjustment would get tight and you would need to add a shim under the fulcrum.

You could compensate by using shorter pushrods, and you'd determine the length you'd want by setting your rocker arm geometry.
