I've run the cam in and adjusted the idle and timing. Now I'm attempting to adjust the rockers. These are full roller aluminum rockers with the allen screw that locks the adjusting nut in place. Do these adjust just like stamped rockers? Engine is warm and all rockers are getting plenty of oil. I'm backing off until the rocker starts to click then snugging them up until the clicking stops then adding 1/2 turn. I'm getting noise from the rockers and I'm not sure if that's normal and I cant single out which one(s) may be making the noise.

Yes, that is correct. Only I would tighten 1/4 turn. Some clicking/light ticking is normal will roller rockers and "hot" juice lifers.------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator NHRA/IHRA/SRA member and licensed Superstock driver MCA member# 53321 NHRA and IHRA SS/LA & SS/MA National Record Holder '00,'01,'02,&'03 First SS/MA in the TENS! Comp Cams recommends pre-loading hydraulic lifters .030, or about 1/2 turn. I've checked this on a magnetic base dial indicator, and it's just about spot-on. You adjust the intake valve as that cylinder's exhaust valve is opening, and adjust the exhaust as the intake is closing. Once you use this method once or twice, it's a piece of cake ------------------ 1965 GT coupe, 333ci aluminum headed/solid cammed stroker, four speed, 3.70:1 9" All Blue Oval, no blue bottle http://mustangsandmore.50megs.com/V8Thumper.html

Thanks guys. Should I back them up 1/4 turn? Was getting a little worried. There's not any clicking that stands out, you can just hear it. Maybe it'll quiet down after the valve cover is back on. Oh, I dont know about hot juice lifters but I'm using CompCams lifters....[This message has been edited by 69 Sportsroof (edited 01-11-2004).]

I personally use Comp's procedure for both juice and solid grinds. You can't miss, and it's alot cleaner The tutorial is here: http://www.compcams.com/Technical/Catalogs/106-03/HTML/408-412.html Look for 'Setting hydraulic lifter preload' on page 411 ------------------ 1965 GT coupe, 333ci aluminum headed/solid cammed stroker, four speed, 3.70:1 9" All Blue Oval, no blue bottle http://mustangsandmore.50megs.com/V8Thumper.html

Hot juice is just my generic slang for a high performance hydraulic lifter. They will be OK at 1/2 turn. I like 1/4 turn so you can achive maximum RPM without premature float. You don't want to be premature do you? ------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator NHRA/IHRA/SRA member and licensed Superstock driver MCA member# 53321 NHRA and IHRA SS/LA & SS/MA National Record Holder '00,'01,'02,&'03 First SS/MA in the TENS!
