Topic: Exhaust Port Bumps - 5.0L E7TE Castings

I ground down the the bumps in the exhaust ports in stock 5.0L HO heads. Each port now has a small hole in the roof that leads to the thermactor port. I've plugged the thermactor holes at the back of each head and sealed the threads with black Permatex. I assume that's all I need to do. There's only exhaust in that passage, not coolant, correct?Dan Jones

I don't know if it is worth the effort, but some people tap those holes, run bolts in them, and grind the heads off the bolts so it is smooth.------------------
