In case any body is looking for a set of heads for their SBF, this place http://www.shaverracingheads.com/netspecial.htm, sells the Pro Top Lines cheaper than anyplace Ive found. I was talking to one of their salesperson, (Bob) and they have 12 sets of blemished 180 cc, 58 cc chamber aluminum heads. He emphatically states the heads are 100 percent sound. Only problem is their appearance, the grain doesnt look correct. Anyway they are 670 bare and 820 complete with flat tappet valve springs. Just thought I would pass this info along. No, I dont work for them or anything like that.[This message has been edited by Von (edited 01-09-2004).]

Bob didnt mention anything about any other blems. I was wanting some 200 cc alum blems, but they didnt have any others. 630 for the irons seems like a steal to me. I cant decide if the weight reduction is enough to justify the extra $260.

Shaver is still cheaper than summit, even with shipping. Check for yourselves.

Lets compare the manufacturer's Propaganda. BTW most people feel the AFR head to be among the best "out of the box" windsor heads ever.AFR 185cc CNC ported head Lift Intake Exhaust .200 129 118 .300 189 153 .400 234 267 .500 267 185 .550 273 190 .600 277 191 Pro Topline 180cc Lift Intake Exhaust .100 72 60 .200 154 121 .300 208 159 .400 254 184 .500 271 193 .600 274 199 Remember that the AFR heads are considered among the best and are CNC ported. The cast (shipped with some bowl blending on the sets I have seen)Pro Topline head however (if the numbers are believable) had better low and mid lift flow from a non-CNC casting that is slightly smaller in volume. I don't know of anyone who has actually flowed a set of the Pro-toplines yet, although a friend has 2 sets to test and a single head to cut up for info. Flow numbers don't actually mean horsepower all the time. If the Pro Toplines actually perform as good as the AFRs, much less better, then they are winners.
