I am looking too do a T5 conversion but I am not sure which Mustangs too avoid and which ones too go for. I know I want one out of a V8 car but after that, I am not sure.

Best factory are '90-'95.
The '94-'95 uses a different bell housing than '79-'93 due to a longer inputshaft.

Avoid '79-'86 at all cost.

Better than best factory is Z spec. You can buy the Z from many performance retailers.

I bought a '93 T5 that had trashed gears in it, and had it built with Z spec parts. This way I was able to get .59 overdrive, and the speedo gear I wanted.

Depends on what you want to do.
Later Turbo Coupes and or SC's have some nice low gearing and good parts.

like mm say's...depends. if you are gonna smack it hard i like the tremec tko years. im kinda jealous of t-5's, suckers dont weigh nuthin, but they come unglued sometimes.
